Last First Day of Preschool

Alden started yesterday, so everyone is launched for the year. :)  All 3 kids really like their teachers and classmates, and I'm already savoring this last year of having them all at the same school.

A quick jump in the river on the way home before the girls got off the bus.  I love New Hampshire.

Big change from his first day of school last year!

And... wasn't it about 5 minutes ago I was dropping this one off for 4yo preschool??  Five years later... Hard to believe this is our last year of preschool!

Last days of summer - last one

And, the last hurrah of summer - Big House weekend!  Year 5 was just as magical.

the 5 rising kindergartners from our 1st year are going into 4th grade!

The last few days of summer were so hot, and we were so tired -- quiet days at home and late afternoon river swimming...

he can't fully swim yet, but he's getting close!  in the meantime, dives off Ethan's back, and underwater backflips with Lucy

End of summer dinner at Trail Break

finally trying the water balloons Alden got for his birthday

Last days of summer - part 2

I realize these posts don't sound like "living slow" -- we did end the summer with a series of adventures. :)

Sunapee Beach day with the Engerts.  The kids were so happy digging in the sand and wrestling in the lake.

Overnight in Trois-Rivieres for Daddy's meeting. This is a small city so everyone spoke to us in French.

While Alasdair had his dinner meeting, I took the kids to their first all you can eat buffet, which might have been one of the highlights of their summer. ;)

Evening playground time.  The best was when Emily came to me for help because this little boy was trying so hard to talk to her but only spoke French.  He was so sweet and frustrated that "tout le mond ici parle anglais!"

Crafting costumes... Daddy's old yellow sweatpants found a new purpose.

Last day at the pool
